Replacing missing teeth can be achieved in 3 ways: dentures, bridges and implants.
Some of the reasons why it is recommended to replace missing teeth include:
1. Improved chewing;
3. To prevent wear and over-use of the remaining natural teeth;
4. To fill out the lips and cheeks and prevent a sunken appearance;
5. To prevent unwanted drifting of the natural teeth into the spaces;
A denture can replace any number of teeth on a removable plate. It may be all plastic or a mixture of metal and plastic. Both types may have clips (clasps), to help keep the denture in place in the mouth.
The difference between conventional dentures and our Cosmetic Dentures is the life-like appearance of the teeth. We work with some of the UK’s most talented dental technicians to manufacture artificial teeth which not only look natural but are also strong enough for chewing.
The process is simple and takes 4 stages.
In the first 2 stages, super-accurate measurements and impressions of your mouth and jaw joint are taken along with your choice of colour and shape of the new teeth.
In the 3rd stage, a wax replica is trialed in your mouth and any adjustments made.
At the final stage, the finished Cosmetic Denture is delivered to the patient.
The manufacture process takes 4-8 weeks depending on the choice of materials and the complexity of the case.
Cosmetic Dentures should last several years with the appropriate care.
It is important to maintain excellent oral hygiene and have your teeth checked regularly by a dentist. Bone and gum ridges can shrink, causing the jaws to meet differently. Therefore the denture may need to be relined or re-made because of normal wear or a change in the shape of the mouth.
At The Newmarket Road Dental Clinic, our policy is to only fit dentures made of the most superior dental materials currently available on the market, and will not compromise on strength or aesthetics. Therefore the cost of our Cosmetic Dentures start from £395 depending on the number of teeth being replaced and the design of the denture.
